IRM Insurance offers a wide variety of insurance policies in Farragut and throughout the state of Tennessee. Below is a brief rundown of the kinds of coverage we offer:

Homeowners Insurance

You’ve done it! You’ve followed through on the American dream and finally bought your own home. Congrats! The rate of homeownership has declined slightly in recent years, and especially among younger adults, so this is no small accomplishment.

It is not easy to own your own home these days, so when you’ve worked hard enough to reach that point in your life, you’ll want to take measures to protect the security of your home. Choosing the right homeowners insurance policy will be tantamount to keeping your Farragut home strong, safe, and in the family for years to come.

Be Prepared!

There are countless sayings pertaining to life’s infamous unexpected events. Whether it’s life “throwing you a curveball” or friends advising you to “roll with the punches,” these well-known phrases highlight the fact everyone faces surprises in life — good and bad. Unfortunately, it’s those bad surprises which can leave an entire family destitute, and that is why it is so incredibly important to take action in protecting yourself, your family, and your home (among other inherently crucial proponents of your life).

Finding and obtaining the right insurance policy from the right insurance agency can make all the difference between rising from the ashes of a devastating event and becoming part of them. Protect yourself and your family by being fully prepared for anything. We offer homeowners insurance policies that provide many different kinds of protection, as well as flood insurance and other policies to cover your specific needs.

When it comes to protecting your family and assets, it pays work with a local Farragut insurance agent who is familiar with the natural disasters and the likelihood of their occurrence in your area. Local crime rates and other factors also play a role in your premiums. Some of the most common incidents (and some uncommon ones) which are typically covered by basic homeowners insurance policies are:

  • Fire and smoke damage
  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Hail & storm damage
  • Explosions
  • Vehicular damage (damage from vehicles)
  • Aerial damage (damage from aircraft)
  • Lightning (not necessarily isolated to storm damages)

It’s important to note that most standard homeowners insurance policies do not offer coverage for damages incurred due to natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and general wear-and-tear. To be safe on all fronts, look into a specific solution, such as adding a flood policy to your standard insurance agreement.

Dwelling Coverage

Dwelling coverage comes part and parcel to general homeowners insurance policies across the nation. The limits for this type of coverage is based on the estimated expenses involved in rebuilding your home. If your home becomes damaged due to any of the conditions covered in your dwelling policy, this insurance will help pay to repair or rebuild your home (sometimes from the ground up, again, depending on the policies coverage areas).

Forms of Policies

There are three general types of policies for homeowners: HO-1, HO-2, and HO-3. The concepts behind each are fairly simple. To complicate matters a little, there are also a variety of other types of coverage for those who rent a home or apartment or who own different types of dwellings, such as mobile homes or condos:

  • HO-1: Basic. This form of policy entails most types of dwelling coverage for homeowners. Does not include coverage for other structures, personal property, loss of use, or other ‘special circumstance’ damages.
  • HO-2: Broad. This policy form covers most damages not covered by the HO-1. Homeowners will need to seek other options for other special circumstances coverage, but the HO-2 form does give an advantage. This form will cover damages from falling objects, snow and ice, frozen pipes or ACs/heaters, and more.
  • HO-3: Special. Often, the homeowners will receive more financial protection with the HO-3, rather than the more specific HO-2 form. This form will provide insurance for most instances damages to other structures as well as personal property and personal liability expenses. You can also sometimes find an insurance agent who will add a life insurance plan to the HO-3 special form.
  • HO-4: Tenants. This form is a basic renter’s insurance policy and will generally only cover your belonging and personal liability.
  • HO-5: Comprehensive. This form will be the most detailed and thorough, listing all items which are covered, such as damages incurred from earthquakes, landslides, floods/water damage, wear and tear, settling, mold and rot, nuclear hazards and much, much more.
  • HO-6: Condos. This form is specific to owners of condominiums and will protect belongings and personal liability. Typically, this form will also extend to coverage for the units internal structures (walls, floors, ceilings).
  • HO-7: Mobile Homes. For mobile home owners, this form is generally an edited version of the HO-3 form, with specific modifications for mobile homeowner issues (such as lot and community accordances).
  • HO-8: Older homes. Again, this form is an adaptation of the HO-3 Special form, as it takes into account the many difficulties which typically arise with an older home.

If you’re not sure which type of insurance you need, we can help you with both the basic homeowner’s or renter’s policy as well as any additional riders you need to meet your specific situation.
